Horticulture Alumni

The Horticulture Alumni is being established as a community of like-minded industry leaders, who share a common desire to lift the bar for Australia’s horticulture sector. It will introduce a ‘club’ approach ― where being a member means you will not only be at the forefront of Australia’s horticulture leaders, but you will also have a chance to shape its future.

Vision: To promote leadership and continued learning, and recognise industry leaders.

Mission: To develop and promote collective excellence and innovation in the rural industry.

Aim: To create a national community of leaders who will lift the bar on leadership across the industry as a valued, rewarding and cutting-edge profession.

Alumni Values: There are four core member values:

Collaboration: Leverage the best of the industry and make valued connections with passionate people for mutual benefit.

Accountability: “If it’s to be, it’s up to me”. Make positive progress in yours and others’ leadership development.

Being The Best: Be the best to be able to help others. Make better decisions to improve your business and help others.

Driving Forward: Do projects that will make a difference. Make a difference to things that matter for your peers and the industry.

The Scope of Alumni Activities & Services

The key benefits of being part of the alumni are the insights and connections individuals will have access to. Services and programs will be planned to open both doors and minds. The alumni will deliver a selected range of events exclusive to members including:

Signature event ― the alumni national flagship event, the Annual National Conference, will provide the opportunity to connect, collaborate and share with like-minded people across the membership. The conference will be timed and aligned with existing industry events to maximise participation and collaboration across the sector.

Regional networking opportunities ― membership will provide access to a range of regional events including events to provide connection and learning. Alumni membership will ensure access to local workshops, briefings, round tables and regional forums based on local interest and priorities, and opportunities to focus and discuss local specific topics of relevance.

Access to the alumni digital network (social media) ― digital technology will provide the mechanism for members from far and wide to connect with each other and enable knowledge sharing and idea capture.
